Together with Young Workers Worldwide: Learning, Sharing, and Moving Forward

Aoi Shinya, Tokyo JOC - Centenary Celebration

I was delighted to reunite with my friends from the International JOC and to meet new people. I was also happy to share this experience with the young people and collaborator who participated from Japan. Participating in the leadership training allowed me to learn about the current situation around the world.

The part about the current state of leadership training was impressive. Through the play, I was able to objectively see the current state of young workers today. Learning about the current state and analyzing it made me strongly want to improve the situation.

We often feel suppressed in our daily lives, but when I am with my JOC colleagues (we have many meetings), we sometimes dance or sing songs, share our concerns with each other, and I am reminded that I am not alone. Through international gatherings, I realized that time outside of meetings is also very important.

In these times when it is difficult to find free time for myself, I am keenly aware of the difficulty of sharing time with my colleagues in this way.

Are we able to allocate eight hours each to work, sleep, and free time?

I want to ask myself if I have time to do what I love, meet with someone, enjoy a leisurely cup of tea, or simply relax without thinking about work.

After hearing about the growing right-wing trend internationally at a public forum and discussing it with others, I made a conscious effort to research the elections held in Japan and talk to people about them.

My message young workers around the world, You are not alone. Let's walk together with our friends!
