Indonesia consist of nearly a hundred of various language and ethnic groups, and culturally, they are distinctive from each other. However with regards to dance and music, their spirit are one.
The PPMP-YCW Indonesia Cimencrang Base Group is organizing young workers to be part of the INGENIOUS Group.
They have been established since 2021 and focusing on advertisement, promotion and opening small business opportunities. Most of the base group members are entrepreneurs coming from different provinces nearby Bandung. Erson and Trisna, the key leaders of PPMP Indonesia are leading the group with the purposes to build and create cultural group of young workers, artists and entrepreneurs
Relatively, in Bandung
district and nearby towns, many young workers
occupation rely primarily on agriculture, manufacturing sector, service
industry, restaurant, supermarket, hotel, shops and small retail businesses. However, their income is not enough for their daily living or they
are being paid
of less than the minimum wage mandated by the government of Rp 3.000.000 per
month (USD200).
The action of Cimencrang Base Group is performing in the street through dance and music expressing their cultural heritage as well as conveying the reality of young workers in the public. It also helps them to generate small income because some people are giving small amount of money in their street performance as a token of appreciation
PPMP-YCW Indonesia is extending the action with CYV Extension Groups in Karapitan. The group are composed of Junior High and College students in Bandung city. The group is focusing on personal development skills such as cultural dancing, singing and modelling. The aim of this group is to become good influencers in the society using the social media platform through creating digital contents for promotions of personal youth development as well as small business like clothing and other local products.
The group is founded and being manage by Mr. Erik, a good friend of Rony Robiansyah (IYCW-ASPAC coordinator). They are being assisted by three militant leaders of PPMP-YCW namely Ari, Trisna and Erson.
YCW-PPMP Indonesia is similarly extending the action to other cultural groups in Bandung City in order to widen the networks and collaboration. They are working with Panglawungan (Moh Toha - Bandung) Cultural Group which aims to promote and preserve the culture of Indonesians through martial arts and variation of playing traditional instruments to the young people. PPMP-YCW has been part of providing guidance to the leaders of Panglawungan in organizing youth and other activities. The Panglawungan leaders on the other hand wants to have more engagement and collaboration with PPMP Indonesia to have exchanges of realities and cultures with other base groups.
