Tokyo, Japan – YCW Japan-Tokyo held a heartwarming Christmas gathering at the
Tokyo Workers' Home last December, attended by young people, adult YCW members,
chaplains, and collaborators. The event fostered camaraderie and reflection,
beginning with personal introductions and discussions about life and work.
A special candle
service was held, where attendees lit candles and shared their hopes for the
future. This moment provided a rare opportunity for participants to express
their thoughts and listen to one another. YCW Tokyo continues to offer a
platform for young people to speak openly, build courage, and find solidarity
within the community.
Following the
candle service, the Christmas Party & Cultural Event featured a diverse
array of dishes representing Myanmar, the Philippines, France, China, and
Japan. The event also showcased a vibrant lineup of performances, including
piano recitals, sign language presentations, and a captivating Burmese dance.
The theme of the
celebration, "Go Out and Meet," encouraged attendees to forge new
connections, deepen friendships, and engage with others. Some YCW members
formed new friendships through calendar fundraising activities, strengthening
their bonds within the community.
