A VITAL FIRST STEP TOWARDS TRANSPARENT AND EFFECTIVE COORDINATION

Manila, Philippines- The IYCW-ASPAC coordinators led by Brian and Rony convened the first IYCW-ASPAC Management Committee meeting last January 15, 2024 via zoom. It was attended by current leaders, adult YCW’s and chaplains from various countries, who have vast experiences in the coordination of work, finance and formation and training from the past.

During the opening session, members of the committee expresses that the new coordinators should have clear idea and perspective on how to run and administrate the Management Committee to maximize their support. Moreover, the IYCW-ASPAC team presented the needs and key concerns in the work of coordination in the region.  

Base on the needs of the coordinators, it has been identified the following roles and responsibilities of the management committee;

1.Political Management- To assist the IYCW-ASPAC team in the coordination with the national movements through evaluation of action, reflection and motivation, proposal of development and links for possible networks of people, institutions and other organizations.

2. Finance Management- To support in the evaluation and reflection on finance including the income-expenses report, budget, audit and balance sheet on a regular basis.

3.  Investment Process and Management- To assist the IYCW-ASPAC in the management of assets and properties (local and abroad) and support in the investment process.

4.   Networking and collaboration- Referral to funding agencies and link to other institutions that can be possible to support the actions of the NM’s and IYCW-ASPAC coordination.

5.  Legal Management- To represent and support the IYCW-ASPAC Team in compliance with the government requirements in the Philippines where the continental office is located.

6.   Formation and Training- To assist in giving formation and training especially to the national leaders to help them strengthen their capacities and skills.

From then onwards, the coordinators are expected to give the committee an overview of the situation of every NM’s in the region concerning national leadership and capacity development, and as well as an audit of available resources and manpower ready for disposal. The MC members express their support on the work of ASPAC and agreed to have a quarterly meeting.
