Young women workers still struggling for equality, equity and dignity!!
For so long, women have been exploited, discriminated, harassed and oppressed in the factories, the houses and the societies, and looked at as fragile, weak and vulnerable beings who are only meant to stay at home and look after their family,
even though the truth that women have been a big part of the social, political and economic development all over the world in the different part of our history can’t be hidden, and where the struggle of women for dignity, equality and equity inside the workplace and in the societies also in the world is not a new trend. It started in the 90 th in different part of the world that women stood to fight for their lives, in order to be seen to
be appreciated and heard!
“Today I would like to emphasize the gender inequality in Pakistan. Despite some changing attitude, even today a girl birth is not celebrated. Female are not given the same attention as man. As we have a man dominated society, I would like to demand for gender equality in every field of life. There should not be discrimination, and not any kind of harassment on working places.” Khushbu Amanat-Lahore
Until today women are not respected, valorized and appreciated in the different societies! Until today women are exploited, discriminated, harassed and oppressed!
The day 8 th of March is a day to indicate general respect, appreciation and love for women for their economic, political and social achievements, it also a reminder of the struggle, of the need to fight everyday not only women but also men for the rights of women to be respected in our world today!
How do we need to continue the struggle!! What could be the next concrete steps!!
“At the level of gender in the YCW we are doing training and awareness to the youth so that they can be educated and trained in this issue which is very important, the social problems in the streets are many, the training spaces are conducive and as a movement from the participation to promote it in various seminars and focusing on the roles and stereotypes that exist and that harm people that are not correct in a just society with dignity and above all with respect between people” Felipe Vega- Peru
- Raising awareness and educating young men and women is crucial to be able to achieve equality in order to fight and break the stereotypes and the patriarchal systems of our societies.
- Creating save spaces where women can speak up and feel heard and empowered is very essential in the personal development of women and their capacity building.
- The continuous of doing actions and campaigns at every level need to be strengthen for women to have access to Social Protection, equal job opportunity and equal income as men is urgently needed I
the existence of women is important as men and the contribution of men in the societies is the same as the contribution of Women thus, we are equal and equivalent! and we need to be aware of that and act accordingly.
